Today around 11:30am I was walking my dogs in the George Washington National Forest. I parked my pickup at the base of the Massanutten Ridge and walked the dogs uphill, staying on the road the entire time. Recently I have been watching Sasquatch research documentaries so I knew that wood knocking or rock clacking might garner a response. I had never tried anything of the sort not sure what I believe but like to wonder I guess. On our walk uphill I grabbed a couple of rocks and clacked them twice. Listen for a minute, nothing so we continued with our walk a couple miles up and back down. Once we got back to the truck I immediately noticed that the truck door was open about a foot. Strange because I clearly remembered making sure it was shut and locked. It was my fathers truck. I didn�t realized the lock didn�t work. I shrugged it off and loaded the dogs up. As I was about to get in a rock flew from the ridge on the opposite side of the road and landed in front of the truck. Just a pebble or something, couple of seconds later a larger rock flew from the same direction, hit some branches flew over the truck missing my had by maybe 6ft or so. Landed and bounced off the ground. Scared now, I looked in the direction it came from and heard low distinct grunts or something. Was 2 of them. As far as I could tell, just sounded like 2 different individuals doing the grunting. Hard to explain. On top of all this I dropped my keys somewhere. I unloaded the dogs and we walked to the park entrance. Once there I could still hear brush moving away from us. Called someone out and we went back to the truck and called a locksmith. We were there for 3 more hours was silent the whole time. I picked the rock up was about goofball size. Thrown from 50 yards or so above me. It landed like it came from some height.
