David Coughlin was one of two hikers who disappeared while attempting to hike out from an overnight campsite to complete a loop in Rattlesnake Canyon within Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
🔍 Circumstances
On August 5, 1999, he and Raffi Kodikian missed a key cairn marker along the trail while attempting to complete a loop; they became lost in Rattlesnake Canyon. David Coughlin is reported deceased.
