Thomas Roger Lund, a 39-year-old eastern Summit County resident, was last heard from around September 15, 2024, believed to be heading into the Uinta Mountains. He frequented areas around Moon Lake and Wolf Creek Pass. His red 1997 Ford pickup with a white stripe was later found unoccupied after crashing into a ravine off Mirror Lake Highway near the Soapstone Basin turnoff. Lund's body was recovered on October 4, 2024, with an apparent gunshot wound; officials stated there is no current evidence of foul play, and the cause of death has not yet been released by the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner.
